Youth Entrepreneurship Program

be an entrepreneur clipboardIn the spring, we will be launching into our fourth year of the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), in partnership with the Oregon Coast Community College, Small Business Development Center.

This special program will be offered to teens in our program and entrepreneurfrom across Lincoln County, and it provides business training, hands-on experience and opportunities for workforce development.

Typically, the program will last for nine to ten months, and teens attend classes and workshops here at the Kids Zone building and on the OCCC campus itself.

This year we are hoping to create paid internships for teens, placing them at local businesses and letting them learn hands-on what it takes to run a business, while they explore careers they are interested in pursuing.  They can learn by working real jobs and by interfacing with the team of owners, managers and staff.

A maximum of 12 teens can sign up, so parents should reserve a spot quickly!  Please inquire with NFK staff to enroll in 2015.
