Computer Technology class helps Kids Zone youth to develop essential computer skills. The main point of the class is learning keyboarding and the basics of utilizing various Microsoft Office software. Usually the teens work on projects for Kids Zone. Some of these projects consist of using PowerPoint to develop posters; they have created “Healthy Hand Washing” posters for the restrooms and posters for marketing the Kids Zone music class on Fridays.
Another project the teens assist with is the monthly Kids Zone Newsletter. Many are taking on the role of journalists and photojournalists, developing stories and taking photos to publish in the newsletter. Assisting with this project allows the teens to learn how to operate the many facets of Microsoft Publisher.
